About the Cat Health Guide

Mission Statement

The mission of the Cat Health Guide is to provide cat parents with information on feline illnesses and diseases. While not a replacement for veterinary care, we do believe that an informed owned can ask better questions that will lead to better veterinary and behavioral outcomes.

Our Team

publisherJeff Grill, Publisher and Editor, Cat Health Guide

The Cat Health Guide is a labor of love for Jeff. He started it in 2006 in the early days of the internet, when there wasn't as much reliable cat health information as there is today. He is not a veterinarian, but a skilled researcher.  We do hire veterinarians to answer submitted reader questions and to clarify areas that are complex. Nothing gets written that we wouldn't do for our own cat or dog.

How to Use the Guide

The contents of the Cat Health Guide Site, such as text, graphics, images, and other material contained on the Cat-Health-Guide.org Site ("Content") are for informational purposes only. The Content is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your Veterinarian or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read on the Cat Health Guide Site!

If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your Veterinarian immediately. The Cat Health Guide does not recommend or endorse any specific tests, Veterinarians, products, procedures, opinions, or other information that may be mentioned on the Site. Reliance on any information provided by The Cat Health Guide, Cat Health Guide employees, others appearing on the Site at the invitation of Cat Health Guide, or other visitors to the Site is solely at your own risk.

Ask A Vet a Question

If you have pressing medical questions we suggest you use an online veterinary service that has veterinarians standing by 24 hours a day.

FTC Discosure

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires that we disclose any relationship we have between a product manufacturer or service provider when we write about a product or service.

Here are the guidelines we operate under at the Cat Health Guide:

  • We are never paid to do a review. We never accept money to review a product or service. We invest our own time to review products or provide editorial information.
  • If we create a link to a product or service, sometimes we may get paid a commission if you purchase the product or service. These links are included after posts and articles are written. Our goal is to provide both quality editorial and helpful product recommendations, regardless of compensation.
  • Advertisers cannot influence the content, posts or topics on this site, blognewsletter or YouTube channel.

These are good rules and practices in today's digital world. It's important for you to understand the relationship between a person writing about a product and the manufacturer or service provider.

If you don't see a disclosure policy on a blog or website, that site or blog may be violating the law or at the very least the Code of Ethics.

The opinions on the Cat Health Guide, particularly those contributed by our readers, may not necessarily reflect the views of the Cat Health Guide editorial staff. We do our best to not include any questionable information.
