Cause of Benign Nose Tumors In Cats

by Kate
(Oregon)

My 14-year-old male cat has benign tumors in the nasal cavity and one ear.

What is the systematic cause and what vitamins and herbal supplements can be used to treat/prevent future growth?

Suggestion From Our Vet

Hi Kate,

The most common type of benign tumor that typically affects a cat’s head is called a basal cell tumor. Is this what your cat has been diagnosed with? If so, surgically removing the tumor is usually curative.

Unfortunately, we don’t know of any ways – including vitamins or herbal supplements – to prevent the occurrence of basal cell tumors in cats.
